Filtrete 16x25x1 Air Filter MERV 14 (MPR 2800) 2-Pack — High-Efficiency Pleated HVAC Filter for Smoke & Allergens

Filtrete 16x25x1 MERV 14 (MPR 2800) air filters are high-efficiency pleated HVAC filters designed to trap microscopic allergens, smoke, bacteria-carrying particles and larger household dust while maintaining steady airflow.

These Filtrete Premium Allergen & Ultrafine Particles filters come as a convenient two-pack sized 16 x 25 x 1 inches, offering MPR 2800 performance equivalent to MERV 14. Built with Filtrete's multi-layer media, they capture a wide range of particle sizes while supporting typical furnace, air handler and A/C systems that accept 1" filters. Use them as part of routine HVAC maintenance to help keep your living spaces cleaner and system operation efficient.

How well will this filter remove tiny particles like smoke and pollen?

The Filtrete MPR 2800 filter is engineered for high capture of very small particles; independent industry testing shows strong efficiency for particles in the 0.3–1 micron range. It balances filtration performance with airflow to work in standard residential systems without excessive pressure drop.

• Rated MPR 2800 (roughly MERV 14) for fine particle capture
• Designed to capture microparticles such as smoke, pollen, and pet dander
• Measured 81% capture for 0.3–1 micron particles under ASHRAE 52.2 testing

Will this filter fit my home system and affect airflow?

The filter is sized 16 x 25 x 1 inches and fits systems built for 1" furnace or A/C filters. Filtrete's pleated media is designed to allow sufficient airflow for typical residential HVAC equipment when installed correctly and replaced regularly.

• Standard 1" thickness fits most return slots and filter housings
• Pleated design increases surface area for filtration without unduly restricting airflow
• Replace every 90 days for 1" filters to maintain optimal circulation

What particles and contaminants can this Filtrete filter capture?

This filter targets a broad range of airborne matter, from large debris to fine aerosols. It is optimized to reduce particles that commonly circulate indoors, helping lower the load of dust, dander and irritants on surfaces and in breathing zones.

• Captures large particles: lint, household dust, hair and pollen
• Captures microscopic particles: smoke, cough/sneeze debris, some bacteria-sized particles
• Helps trap particles that can carry viruses, based on particle-size testing methodologies

How should I maintain and replace these filters for best results?

To preserve performance and avoid strain on your HVAC system, swap out 1" filters on a regular schedule. A heavy dust load, pets, or household smokers may require more frequent changes than the standard recommendation.

• Change 1" Filtrete filters at least every 90 days; more often in higher-use homes
• Inspect filters monthly during allergy season or if household conditions change
• Subscribe to filter reminders or keep spare two-packs for timely replacement

Who is this Filtrete 16x25x1 MPR 2800 2-pack best for? Homeowners and renters who want higher-efficiency filtration without upgrading to thicker media will appreciate this product. It’s suited for people wanting improved capture of fine particles—such as those with seasonal allergies, pets, or smoke concerns—while keeping installation simple in standard 1" HVAC filter slots. If your system accepts 1" pleated filters and you prioritize cleaner indoor air with routine maintenance, this Filtrete pair is a practical choice.
