Filtrete 16x25x1 Air Filter MERV 12 (MPR 1500) — 2-Pack 3-Month Pleated Filters for Allergies & Reliable Airflow

Filtrete 16x25x1 MERV 12 (MPR 1500) is a two-pack of high-efficiency 1-inch pleated HVAC filters engineered to trap a wide range of airborne particles while maintaining reliable airflow for 3-month use.

These pleated Filtrete filters combine a dense, electrostatically charged media with a MPR 1500 / MERV 12 performance level to capture both large debris and many small particles that circulate in home heating and cooling systems. Each filter measures 15.62 x 24.62 x 0.78 inches (actual size) and is sold as a convenient two-pack for scheduled replacement every three months. The filters are suitable for furnaces, air conditioners and most residential HVAC systems, and they are certified asthma and allergy-friendly, making them a practical choice for households seeking cleaner indoor air without compromising system performance.

How does this Filtrete filter improve home air quality?

The MPR 1500 rating and MERV 12 classification mean the filter is optimized to capture a mix of common indoor contaminants, from visible dust to many microscopic particles. Filtrete’s 3-in-1 media uses electrostatic attraction to increase capture efficiency for small particles while keeping airflow acceptable for typical residential systems.

• Captures lint, household dust, pollen and pet dander
• Reduces airborne smoke particles and many bacteria-sized particles
• Removes a proportion of submicron particles thanks to high MPR performance
• Certified asthma and allergy-friendly to support sensitive households

Will these filters fit my 16x25x1 furnace or AC slot, and what are the exact dimensions?

The filters are labeled for nominal 16x25x1 sizing but the actual filter dimensions are approximately 15.62 x 24.62 x 0.78 inches, designed to fit most housings that accept 1-inch pleated filters. Before purchasing, verify your system’s filter slot and orientation to ensure a proper seal and correct airflow direction.

• Nominal size: 16 x 25 x 1 inches (common residential size)
• Actual size printed on the filter: 15.62 x 24.62 x 0.78 inches
• Sold as a 2-pack for two replacement cycles (recommended 3 months each)
• Fits furnaces, air conditioners and most HVAC return grilles designed for 1-inch filters

How often should I change these filters, and can I get reminders?

For typical households, Filtrete recommends replacing this pleated 1-inch filter at least every 90 days to maintain peak performance and airflow. Homes with pets, heavy dust, or higher allergy sensitivity may need to replace filters more frequently. The Filtrete Smart App can scan the product barcode and send push notifications at 30-, 60- or 90-day intervals to remind you when it’s time to swap filters.

• Standard replacement interval: every 90 days
• Consider 30–60 day changes for pets, smokers, or high pollen seasons
• Use Filtrete Smart App to set and receive replacement reminders
• Proper, timely changes help protect HVAC efficiency and indoor air quality

Does using a higher-efficiency Filtrete filter affect HVAC performance?

These MERV 12 / MPR 1500 filters balance particle capture and airflow for most residential systems. When installed correctly and replaced on schedule, they maintain reliable airflow while improving filtration compared with lower-rated disposable filters. Always confirm your HVAC manufacturer's recommendations for filter MERV limits to avoid warranty or performance concerns.

• MERV 12 provides higher filtration without excessive airflow restriction for compatible systems
• Proper installation ensures correct airflow direction and system efficiency
• Replace every 90 days to avoid added strain from a clogged filter
• Check your HVAC manual if your system specifies a maximum MERV rating

Who is this for? Homeowners and renters who want a dependable, higher-performance one-inch filter for routine HVAC maintenance will find this Filtrete 2-pack a solid choice. It suits families managing allergies, pet owners, and anyone aiming to reduce common indoor particles without upgrading to thicker specialty filters. If you require hospital-grade filtration or have specific HVAC constraints, consult your system documentation or an HVAC professional before switching to a higher MERV filter.
