Filtrete 16x24x1 Air Filter MERV 5 (MPR 300) 6-Pack — Pleated Electrostatic, 3-Month Basic Dust Defense

Filtrete 16x24x1 MPR 300 (MERV 5) air filters are pleated, electrostatic HVAC filters sold in a six-pack that capture lint and household dust while allowing efficient airflow for standard home furnaces and air conditioners.

These Filtrete filters, manufactured by 3M, use proprietary 3-in-1 electrostatic media to pull in and trap common particles from indoor air. Each filter is nominally 16x24x1 but has actual dimensions of 15.81" x 23.81" x 0.81" and is rated MPR 300 / MERV 5 for basic dust defense. The six-pack supplies replacement filters for multiple returns or several change cycles, and the pleated design is intended for a 90-day recommended replacement cadence in typical home HVAC systems.

How do these filters fit my furnace or air conditioner?

Filtrete 16x24x1 filters are designed for HVAC systems that accept 1-inch filters and list 16x24x1 as the nominal size. Because many systems expect a snug fit, check the actual frame dimensions before purchasing.

• Actual dimensions: 15.81" x 23.81" x 0.81" — verify your slot clearance.
• Intended for standard residential furnaces, air handlers and return grilles that accept 1" filters.
• Sold as a six-pack to cover multiple returns or up to 18 months of routine changes if used one at a time.

What particles will the MPR 300 / MERV 5 rating capture?

The MPR 300 / MERV 5 rating focuses on capturing common household particles like lint, dust and larger airborne debris rather than the smallest aerosols. It provides basic filtration that helps reduce visible dust buildup on surfaces and in ductwork without restricting airflow for typical home HVAC equipment.

• Effective at trapping lint, household dust, dust mite debris and larger particulates.
• Not intended for fine-particle or medical-grade filtration; choose higher-rated filters for smaller particles.
• Pleated electrostatic media increases particle capture compared with flat fiberglass or washable filters.

How often should I replace these Filtrete filters and can I set reminders?

For general residential use, Filtrete recommends replacing 1" pleated filters every 90 days; factors such as pets, allergies, household size or heavy dust may require more frequent changes. The Filtrete Smart App (iOS and Android) can be used to create 30-, 60- or 90-day reminders so you don’t miss a scheduled change.

• Standard recommendation: change every 90 days for typical homes.
• If you have pets or heavy dust, check monthly and replace sooner as needed.
• Use the Filtrete Smart App to set automated filter-change reminders.

Why choose a Filtrete 3-in-1 electrostatic filter over fiberglass or washable types?

Filtrete’s electrostatic pleated filters capture more airborne particles than basic fiberglass panels and are disposable, avoiding the performance loss that can occur with some washable filters. The pleated construction increases surface area, and the electrostatic charge helps attract and hold dust for the filter’s recommended service life.

• Pleated media offers greater surface area and longer effective life than flat fiberglass.
• Electrostatic attraction improves capture of particles passing through the filter.
• Disposable design provides consistent performance without washing and potential damage.

Who is this for: This six-pack of Filtrete 16x24x1 MPR 300 (MERV 5) filters is best for homeowners and renters with standard 1" HVAC filter slots who want reliable, low-resistance filtration for everyday dust and lint control. It suits multi-return homes, households that prefer to keep spare filters on hand, and anyone who wants a budget-friendly, widely available option compatible with the Filtrete Smart App reminders. If you need higher capture of fine particles, consider Filtrete models with higher MPR or MERV ratings.
