Filtrete 16x20x1 HVAC Air Filters MERV 13 (MPR 1900) 2-Pack — High Capture, Reliable Airflow

Filtrete 16x20x1 MERV 13 (MPR 1900) is a high-airflow pleated HVAC filter designed to capture microscopic and large airborne particles while maintaining reliable airflow for residential furnaces and air conditioners.

This two-pack of 1-inch Filtrete filters combines a MERV 13 rating with a 1900 MPR performance level to trap a wide range of contaminants — from visible dust and pollen to very small particles that can carry bacteria — without overly restricting system airflow. Made by 3M, these filters are created for routine home use and are built to fit standard 16 x 20 x 1 filter slots. Changing every 90 days helps keep your HVAC running efficiently and supports cleaner indoor air.

How does this filter balance particle capture and airflow?

The Filtrete 1900 MPR pleat design is engineered to maximize surface area so it can intercept many particle sizes while allowing air to pass with less resistance than many MERV 13 retail competitors. That balance helps maintain comfort and system efficiency.

• High MPR 1900 and MERV 13 rating for broad particle capture
• Pleated media increases filtering surface while preserving airflow
• Designed to perform in typical residential furnaces and AC units
• Manufacturer-tested for airflow advantages over comparable retail MERV 13 filters

What types of particles will this filter remove from household air?

This Filtrete model captures many airborne particles across a wide size range, from large visible debris to very small particulates. It is intended for general household use and helps reduce suspended contaminants that contribute to dust and odors.

• Large particles: lint, pollen, dust and pet hair
• Smaller particulates: pet dander, smoke, and some ultrafine fragments
• Microparticles between about 0.3 and 1.0 micron at significant capture rates
• Reduces the number of common household airborne particles that pass through the HVAC return

How often should I replace the Filtrete 16x20x1 filter and how can I remember?

Filtrete recommends replacing this 1-inch pleated filter approximately every 90 days for typical residential conditions. Replacement frequency may be shorter in homes with pets, high dust, or heavy HVAC use.

• Standard guideline: change at least every 90 days
• Shorten interval if you have pets, smokers, construction dust, or allergy concerns
• Use the Filtrete Smart App to scan the barcode and set 30/60/90-day reminders
• Regular replacement helps sustain airflow and filtration performance

Will this filter fit my heating and cooling system, and where is it intended to be used?

The pack contains two filters sized to fit commonly used 16 x 20 x 1 slots; actual product dimensions measure about 15.62 x 19.62 x 0.78 inches. These filters are designed for residential furnaces, air conditioners, and central HVAC systems.

• Actual packed dimensions: 15.62 x 19.62 x 0.78 in
• Fits standard 16x20x1 filter housings and return grilles
• Intended for residential HVAC systems only, not for industrial use
• Works in both heating and cooling seasons to maintain indoor air freshness

Who is this for: The Filtrete 16x20x1 MERV 13 (MPR 1900) two-pack is aimed at homeowners who want stronger filtration than basic filters while preserving HVAC airflow — useful for families with pets, seasonal allergy sufferers, or anyone wanting to reduce dust and a broad range of airborne particles. If you need a filter that balances effective capture of many particle sizes with system-friendly airflow and app-based change reminders, this Filtrete option is built to meet everyday residential needs.
