Filtrete 16x20x1 Air Filter 6-Pack — MERV 11 (MPR 1000), Pleated 1" Filters for HVAC Allergen Reduction

These Filtrete home air filters from 3M pair a MPR 1000 rating with MERV 11 performance to reduce airborne microparticles like pet dander, smoke and smog, while also capturing larger contaminants such as lint, pollen and dust. Each filter is 1 inch thick and pleated for increased media surface area, and the set includes six filters intended for three-month replacement cycles in most homes. The pack is compatible with furnaces, central air conditioners and many HVAC systems.

How do these filters balance filtration and airflow?

Filtrete filters use pleated media and an electrostatic element to capture particles without overly restricting airflow. The design helps your HVAC system continue to move conditioned air efficiently while removing a significant portion of particles down to the microparticle range.

• MPR 1000 and MERV 11 ratings indicate strong capture of 0.3–1.0 micron particles and larger.
• Pleated media increases surface area for better dust-holding capacity.
• Engineered to maintain adequate airflow for most residential HVAC setups.

What kinds of particles will these filters remove?

These filters target a broad spectrum of household particulates, reducing both visible and invisible contaminants that circulate through your home’s ductwork. They are especially effective at lowering levels of common allergens and many fine particles associated with indoor air quality concerns.

• Microparticles such as smoke, smog and fine pet dander.
• Larger debris including dust, lint and pollen.
• Allergen reduction certified for asthma and allergy-friendly environments.

How often should I replace each filter and can I set reminders?

For reliable performance and to prevent excessive buildup, replace each 1-inch Filtrete filter at least every 90 days in typical residential use. If you have pets, allergies, or higher airborne loads, check and change the filter more frequently. The Filtrete Smart App simplifies reminders by scanning the barcode and setting a countdown for replacement.

• Standard recommendation: replace every 90 days.
• High-usage households: consider 30–60 day checks and earlier replacement.
• Use Filtrete Smart App to scan packaging and get automated change notifications.

Will these filters work with my furnace or central air conditioning?

The 16x20x1 size is a common residential dimension that fits many furnace and air conditioner filter slots. Always confirm the correct filter size and thickness for your unit before purchase; these filters are intended for systems that accept 1-inch pleated media.

• Compatible with most furnaces, central AC units and standard HVAC return grilles that accept 1" filters.
• Not suitable for systems requiring thicker filters or specialized media without checking specifications.
• Six filters provide up to 18 months of routine protection if replaced quarterly.

Who is this for: The Filtrete 16x20x1 MERV 11 (MPR 1000) six-pack suits homeowners and renters who want stronger-than-basic filtration without moving to very dense media that can strain older systems. It’s a good choice for families with pets, people managing seasonal allergies, or anyone seeking a straightforward, app-supported way to keep HVAC filters changed on schedule.
