Filtrete 14x24x1 Air Filter MERV 5 — 6-Pack MPR 300 Pleated Electrostatic, 3-Month Dust Defense

This 6-pack from Filtrete (3M) provides basic dust defense for furnaces and air conditioners using a pleated, electrostatically charged media. With a Microparticle Performance Rating (MPR) of 300 and a MERV 5 classification, these filters are optimised to remove larger airborne particles while allowing standard air handlers to run without excessive resistance. The pack includes six filters sized to fit systems labeled 14x24x1 (actual dimensions 13.81" x 23.81" x 0.81"), making it easy to keep spare filters on hand for seasonal changes.

How does the electrostatic design improve particle capture?

The Filtrete media carries both positive and negative charges that attract oppositely charged dust and pollen like tiny magnets. That electrostatic pull helps trap particles that plain fiberglass or washable filters often miss, improving surface cleanliness and reducing visible dust around the home.

• Electrostatically charged fibers attract and hold dust, lint and pollen.
• Pleated media increases surface area for more collection per filter.
• MPR 300 targets larger microparticles typical in household dust loads.

Will these filters affect my HVAC system’s performance?

These 1-inch pleated filters are designed for common residential HVAC systems and balance filtration with airflow to avoid undue strain on fans and motors. Because they are rated MERV 5, they provide noticeable dust control without the high resistance associated with dense high-MERV filters.

• Low-pressure drop compatible with most furnaces and air conditioners.
• Change every 90 days for steady airflow and efficiency.
• Outperforms disposable fiberglass and simple washable filters.

How often should I replace the Filtrete 14x24x1 MPR 300 filters?

The manufacturer recommends replacing this pleated filter about every three months under normal household conditions. Actual life depends on home factors like pets, cooking, smoking, and local air quality; heavier contamination may require more frequent changes to maintain effectiveness and airflow.

• Suggested replacement interval: every 90 days.
• Check monthly in homes with pets or high dust levels.
• Use the Filtrete Smart App to set 30-, 60- or 90-day reminders.
