Filtrete 12x20x1 HVAC Air Filters 6-Pack — MPR 300 / MERV 5 Pleated Electrostatic for Dust & Lint, 3-Month Replacement

Filtrete 12x20x1 MPR 300 is a six-pack of 1" pleated electrostatic HVAC filters (actual size 11.81 x 19.81 x 0.81 in) designed to capture lint, household dust and large airborne particles while supporting efficient furnace and air conditioner operation.

These Filtrete filters combine pleated media with an electrostatic charge to attract and trap common household particles. Rated MPR 300 and MERV 5, the filters are built for everyday whole-home use and are intended to be replaced approximately every 90 days. The pack of six gives you spares for routine maintenance or use across multiple systems, and the slightly smaller-than-nominal actual dimensions fit many standard 12x20x1 slots.

How does the electrostatic design improve filtration?

The filter media has positively and negatively charged fibers that work like tiny magnets to pull in both positively and negatively charged particles. This increases capture of dust and larger particulates compared with non-electrostatic, washable, or fiberglass one-inch filters.

• Electrostatic fibers attract microparticles and larger debris
• Pleated construction expands surface area for more particle-holding capacity
• Rated MPR 300 (MERV 5) for routine household dust and lint capture

Will these fit my HVAC, furnace, or AC unit?

These filters are labeled 12x20x1 but have precise dimensions of 11.81 x 19.81 x 0.81 inches, so they fit systems that accept a 12x20x1 nominal filter with a small tolerance. Always verify your unit’s required actual size before ordering.

• Actual dimensions printed: 11.81" x 19.81" x 0.81"
• Suitable for many furnaces, air conditioners and HVAC return grilles that take 12x20x1 filters
• Keep extra filters on hand to swap at regular intervals

How often should I replace these filters and why?

Filtrete recommends changing this 1" pleated electrostatic filter about every 90 days under typical conditions. Replacement frequency can vary with household factors such as pets, smokers, local dust levels, or heavy HVAC use.

• Standard guidance: replace every 3 months for consistent performance
• If you have pets or high dust, check and change filters more frequently
• Using a six-pack makes scheduled replacements simple and convenient

How does using Filtrete filters affect system efficiency?

Keeping a cleaner filter reduces the amount of airborne debris that reaches HVAC components, which can help maintain airflow and reduce strain on the blower motor. Regular filter changes help preserve designed system performance and can support consistent heating and cooling output.

• Removes dust that would otherwise accumulate in coils and ductwork
• Helps maintain steady airflow when replaced on schedule
• Less buildup can mean more consistent system operation and potentially lower maintenance needs

Who is this for: Homeowners and renters with standard residential HVAC, furnace or window/through-the-wall AC units that accept 12x20x1 nominal filters, especially those seeking a cost-effective, routine filtration upgrade. This six-pack suits households wanting straightforward maintenance supplies—families, pet owners, and anyone who prefers scheduled filter swaps. If you need higher capture of finer particles (e.g., very small allergens or smoke), consider higher-MPR or higher-MERV Filtrete options tailored to those needs.
