FGO Organic Gunpowder Green Tea Loose Leaf 453g Resealable Bag — USDA Organic, Mildly Smoky, ~200 Cups

FGO Organic Gunpowder Green Tea is a loose-leaf, USDA-certified organic gunpowder green tea sold in a 453 g resealable bulk bag for roughly 200 cups of brewed tea.

This bulk package contains tightly rolled gunpowder leaves that unfurl into full green tea leaves when brewed. The format is loose leaf rather than tea bags, giving you control over leaf quantity and steep time so you can tune each cup to your taste. The bag is resealable for freshness and labeled as USDA Organic, certified by CCOF.

What does this gunpowder green tea taste like?

The blend offers a traditional gunpowder profile — mildly vegetal with a faint smokiness and a brisk, clean finish. It is less astringent than some green teas when brewed at the right temperature and steep time, providing a balanced, refreshing cup.

• Vegetal and slightly smoky notes typical of gunpowder style
• Medium body with a clear, brisk finish
• Responds well to lower steep temperatures to reduce bitterness

How should I brew FGO gunpowder green tea for best results?

Brew with water below boiling — around 75–85°C (167–185°F) — and steep for 1.5–3 minutes depending on strength preference. Use about 1 teaspoon (2–3 g) per 8 fl oz (240 ml) for a standard cup; adjust more or less to taste.

• Water temp: 75–85°C (167–185°F)
• Steep time: 1.5–3 minutes, shorter for lighter flavor
• Leaf amount: roughly 1 teaspoon (2–3 g) per 8 fl oz

How many cups will the 453 g bag produce and how is it stored?

This 453 g bulk bag can yield approximately 180–220 standard cups depending on how strong you brew. The package is resealable to slow oxidation and preserve aroma; store it in a cool, dark place away from strong odors for longest freshness.

• Estimated yield: ~200 cups at typical serving size
• Resealable bag to maintain freshness between brews
• Best stored in a cool, dry, odor-free cabinet

Is this tea certified organic and what does that mean?

Certification indicates the tea was produced without synthetic fertilizers or prohibited pesticides, following established organic practices.
