Etekcity Digital Kitchen Scale — Large Platform, 1 g Precision, 5,000 g Capacity

The Etekcity Food Kitchen Scale is a large, high-capacity digital scale that delivers 1 g precision for cooking, baking, coffee, and package weighing up to 5,000 g (176 oz).

Compact footprint with generous platform size makes this Etekcity scale a practical countertop tool for home cooks, bakers, and small-shipping needs. It supports multiple measuring units — grams, ounces, pounds:ounces, and milliliters for water and milk — and includes a tare/zero function so you can weigh ingredients inside bowls or containers without manual subtraction. Powered by three AAA batteries, the slim scale offers responsive readings and an automatic shutoff to preserve battery life.

How accurate is the Etekcity scale for recipes and portioning?

This digital kitchen scale reports weight in 1 g increments and reliably handles loads from 2 g up to 5,000 g (about 11 lbs or 176 oz). For everyday recipe work, portion control, and ingredient batching, its single-gram resolution provides repeatable results.

• Precision: 1 g measurement steps for fine-grain accuracy.
• Range: measures from 2 g minimum to 5,000 g maximum capacity.
• Units: switch between g, oz, lb:oz, and ml for water/milk.
• Tare: zero out containers to measure net ingredient weight.

What measurements and features help with cooking and baking?

The scale supports five unit options including metric, imperial, and fluid volume for water and milk, letting you convert recipes quickly. The tare function and broad platform let you stack bowls or use larger containers while still getting accurate ingredient totals.

• Unit options: g, oz, lb:oz, fl oz (water/milk), and mL (water/milk).
• Tare/zero: subtract container weight for net measurements.
• Platform size: roomy surface for bowls, mugs, or small plates.
• Auto-off: conserves battery after 3 minutes of inactivity.

How easy is it to use and maintain this scale?

Operation is straightforward: place batteries, power on, select the desired unit, and use tare as needed. The low-profile design wipes clean quickly; avoid immersing the unit in water and keep moisture away from the display and battery compartment.

• Power: runs on three AAA 1.5V batteries (included in package).
• Controls: simple unit switch and tare button for quick adjustments.
• Care: surface wipes clean — do not submerge the scale.
• Energy saving: automatic shutdown after about 3 minutes.

Will this scale handle coffee dosing and small-batch shipping?

Yes — the 1 g resolution is suitable for coarse coffee dosing and ingredient prep, while the 5,000 g capacity covers heavier items and small parcels. For barista-level precision under 1 g, a more specialized scale might be preferable, but this model balances capacity with useful fine resolution for most household tasks.

• Coffee: accurate enough for typical home dosing and recipes.
• Shipping: capacity up to 11 lbs for light parcel weighing.
• Versatility: works for meal prep, baking, and kitchen projects.

Who is this for?
