ELEGOO PETG-CF 1.75mm Black is a carbon-fiber–reinforced PETG filament engineered for stronger, low-gloss prints that require abrasion resistance and dimensional stability.
Designed for functional prototypes, mechanical parts and refined matte-finish models, this 1 kg spool combines PETG’s toughness with short carbon fibers to improve stiffness, wear resistance and surface clarity. The filament is formulated for broad compatibility with standard 1.75 mm FDM printers when paired with appropriate hardware and settings.
Adding carbon fibers increases stiffness and abrasion resistance compared with plain PETG while producing a subtle matte finish that hides layer lines. The composite shifts part behavior toward higher rigidity and longer wear life, which is useful for load-bearing components and moving assemblies.
Because the filament contains abrasive carbon fibers, a hardened steel or ruby-tipped nozzle is recommended to prevent wear. Use a nozzle diameter of 0.4 mm or larger, print temperatures around 240–270 °C and a heated bed near 65–75 °C for consistent layer adhesion and surface quality.
This composite excels where parts need stiffness, wear resistance and a refined matte look—think functional brackets, mechanical gears, jigs and outdoor fixtures. It’s also useful for end-use parts that require a precise fit and a professional appearance without heavy post-processing.
ELEGOO PETG-CF is broadly compatible with most 1.75 mm FDM printers but requires abrasion-resistant hardware and careful handling during finishing. Sanding and painting are possible, though the carbon fiber content gives a distinct matte texture that often minimizes the need for heavy smoothing.
Who is this for: Makers, engineers and small-batch manufacturers looking for a balance of strength and surface quality will find ELEGOO PETG-CF a practical choice. It’s aimed at users who need rigid, wear-resistant parts with a professional matte look and who can accommodate an abrasive filament in their machine setup. If you primarily print flexible or highly detailed ornamental pieces, a different filament may be preferable.
Q: Do I need a special nozzle for PETG-CF?
A: Yes. Use a hardened steel or similar abrasion-resistant nozzle (≥0.4 mm) to avoid rapid wear from carbon fibers.
Q: What temperature range works best?
A: Print between 240–270 °C with a heated bed set to about 65–75 °C for reliable adhesion and finish.
