ECOLipak Compostable 5-Compartment Bagasse Plates 12.5" — Microwave-Safe, Leak-Resistant

ECOLipak's 5-compartment paper plates are a tree-free, single-use tableware option crafted from bagasse — the fibrous residue left after sugarcane processing. Designed to replace plastic or coated paper dinnerware, these 12.5" plates combine rigid construction with leak and oil resistance so you can serve hot or cold meals without messy mixing. After use they break down in a compost environment in months, making them a practical choice for events, lunches and outdoor dining where convenience and sustainability matter.

How sturdy are these plates for hot meals and saucy dishes?

These plates are built to handle both temperature and moisture without collapsing. The bagasse fibers create a dense surface that resists cutting, oil penetration and liquids long enough to enjoy a meal, and they are safe to warm briefly in a microwave.

• Microwave-safe for reheating portions
• Good cut and oil resistance for heavier foods
• Designed to keep compartments separated under normal use

Will they actually compost at home or require industrial facilities?

Made from fully plant-based bagasse with no plastics or BPA, these plates will biodegrade under composting conditions. In a well-managed backyard compost pile they typically break down within a few months; in industrial composting facilities the process is even faster and more consistent.

• Bagasse material is renewable and trees-free
• Home compostable under normal backyard conditions (3–6 months expected)
• Faster breakdown in commercial composting systems

What makes the 5 compartments useful for everyday meals and events?

The divided layout keeps mains and sides separate so flavors and textures stay distinct, which is helpful for portion control and presentation. Each compartment is sized to hold a main item plus multiple sides like vegetables, fries or dessert without mixing during transport.

• Large main compartment for sandwiches, burgers or entrees
• Multiple smaller compartments for sides, dips, and salads
• Portable design ideal for school lunches, picnics and catered buffets

Are these plates safe for people with dietary sensitivities?

ECOLipak plates are manufactured without plastic coatings, BPA, or known allergens added to the material, which reduces the chance of contaminating food. They are suitable for typical food-service use where an uncoated, plant-fiber surface is preferred.

• Food-grade bagasse; no plastic lining
• BPA-free and gluten-free construction
• Neutral surface reduces chemical transfer to food

Who is this for: ECOLipak’s 12.5" 5-compartment compostable plates are aimed at households, caterers, schools and event planners who want the convenience of disposable dinnerware without the environmental cost of plastic. They suit anyone organizing picnics, kids’ lunches, office lunches or casual events where portion separation, microwave reheating and quick cleanup are priorities. If you prefer plant-based, compostable disposables that break down after use and keep different foods neatly separated, these plates are a practical, sustainable option.
