EasyCare FounTec Algaecide & Clarifier for Fountains and Ponds, 8 oz Concentrate — No Foam, No Stain

EasyCare FounTec Algaecide and Clarifier is an 8 oz concentrated liquid that removes yellow and black algae while clarifying water for fountains, ponds, and water features.

Formulated as a dual-action treatment, this small bottle combines an algaecide with water clarifiers to attack clinging and free-floating algae and improve water clarity without foaming or staining. It’s packaged for easy dosing and designed to reduce the chore of aggressive brushing or frequent chemical cycling. Although labeled safe for surrounding plants and terrestrial animals, it is expressly NOT for use with fish or any aquatic life; follow label directions for proper application and placement of treated water.

How quickly will I see algae disappear after using this product?

Visible improvement often appears within 24–72 hours depending on algae type and water conditions. Black and yellow surface algae that cling to stone or plastic will loosen, and suspended particles begin to clear as the clarifier works.

• First 24 hours: surface film softens and color fades.
• 48–72 hours: most clinging algae detach or become easy to wipe away.
• Clearer water follows as suspended particles are gathered by clarifiers.
• Repeat a small weekly dose to deter immediate regrowth.

Will this change water color, create foam, or stain surfaces?

No—this formula is designed to clear water without producing foam or leaving stains on stone, concrete, or plastic surfaces. The clarifier portion gathers fine particles so they can settle or be removed, while the algaecide targets growth points.

• No foaming under typical use conditions.
• No staining of masonry or synthetic liners when used as directed.
• Helps keep water translucent for cleaner appearance.
• Follow dosing instructions to avoid buildup or overuse.

How is dosage handled and how often should I treat water features?

The concentrated 8 oz bottle is measured by small doses; a little product treats a sizeable volume because the active ingredients are formulated to be potent at low quantities. After an initial treatment to remove existing algae, a maintenance dose once per week helps prevent regrowth.

• Initial treatment: follow label volume-to-water ratio for shock dosing.
• Maintenance: small weekly dose significantly reduces recurrence.
• No weekly chlorine testing or addition required when using as directed.
• Always measure carefully and avoid overdosing near aquatic life.

Is this product safe to use around plants and animals?

EasyCare FounTec is formulated to be safe for landscaping and terrestrial animals when applied per instructions; however, it must never be used in environments with fish or other aquatic organisms. Rinse application tools and avoid runoff into habitats that support aquatic life.

• Safe for surrounding plants when applied correctly.
• Not for fish, invertebrates, or any aquatic animals—do not use in ponds with wildlife.
• Follow label precautions to protect pets and lawn areas during application.
• Store securely away from children and animals.

Who is this for? EasyCare FounTec Algaecide and Clarifier suits homeowners, landscapers, and facility managers who maintain fountains, decorative ponds without fish, birdbaths, and water features that need quick algae control and improved clarity. It’s a practical choice for anyone wanting a compact, low-foaming, non-staining treatment that simplifies regular maintenance and reduces the need for heavy mechanical scrubbing—provided the feature does not support fish or other aquatic life.
