DAP Weatherproof Patching Compound White 32 oz — Exterior, UV-Resistant, Paintable

Built with WeatherMax Technology, this 32 oz acrylic latex compound creates a hydrophobic, sandable and paintable surface that resists UV damage, discoloration, cracking and crumbling. It bonds to both porous and non-porous substrates so you can use it for finishing installations or repairing exposed areas where rain, sun and temperature changes are constant.

How well will this patch hold up against rain and sun exposure?

The formula cures into a tough, water-repellent surface that won’t swell, soften or blister when wet, and contains UV-resistant ingredients to slow fading and breakdown. It’s engineered to endure repeated outdoor exposure without losing adhesion or integrity.

• Hydrophobic finish repels moisture and prevents water-related failures.
• UV-resistant composition reduces discoloration and material degradation.
• Cures quickly—can withstand rain within 24 hours after full cure.

Which materials can I use it on for siding and trim repairs?

DAP’s patching compound bonds to a wide range of substrates, making it suitable for common exterior building materials. Use it for installation gaps, small holes, seams and surface defects across many surfaces.

• Works on fiber cement siding, PVC trim board, and vinyl siding.
• Adheres to metal, composite materials, concrete, brick and wood.
• Effective for both porous and non-porous repairs and finishing tasks.

Can this product be sanded and painted to match finished surfaces?

Yes—the compound sands smoothly to create a flush surface and accepts most exterior paints for a uniform finish. After curing, it provides a paintable substrate so repaired areas blend in with surrounding materials.

• Sands to a smooth profile for seamless finishing.
• Paintable with standard exterior paints once fully cured.
• Leaves a stable base that won’t bleed or soften under paint layers.

How quickly does the patch set and when is it ready for weather?

Drying time varies with temperature and thickness, but once fully cured the compound resists rain within 24 hours. For best adhesion and durability, allow complete cure before heavy exposure or topcoating.

• Fast-setting acrylic latex base for efficient job turnaround.
• Resistant to rain after full cure—typically within 24 hours.
• Thinner applications cure faster; thicker fills require longer drying time.
