CHAPIN 2-Gallon Watering Can — Recycled Polymer, Tru-Stream Shower Nozzle, Leak-Resistant Gasket

The CHAPIN 47998 is a two-gallon watering can made from 100% recycled polymer with a precision Tru-Stream shower nozzle and a leak-resistant gasket for steady, efficient watering.

Compact yet capacious, this two-gallon can combines sustainable materials with user-focused features so you can water houseplants, patio containers and garden beds with fewer refills and less mess. Built in the USA from recycled polymer, the can resists rust and chemical breakdown so it works well with plain water or diluted fertilizers. The two-piece shower head and removable Tru-Stream nozzle keep flow consistent and make clog prevention and cleaning easy.

How does the Tru-Stream nozzle improve watering results?

The Tru-Stream shower nozzle produces an even, controlled shower rather than a thin dribble or an uncontrolled gush. That steady spray protects delicate foliage and evenly wets soil surfaces for better plant uptake and fewer runoff problems. Because the nozzle creates a balanced flow, you spend less time adjusting your pour.

• Even shower pattern reduces soil compaction and leaf damage
• Consistent flow for reliable moisture distribution
• Removable two-piece nozzle simplifies cleaning and unclogging

Will this watering can leak when used with fertilizer or frequent pours?

The shower head includes a rubber gasket that seals the connection to the tank, minimizing drips at the neck and preventing waste. The recycled polymer body is chemically resistant, so common liquid fertilizers and diluted feed solutions won’t corrode the tank. Together, these features lower the chance of leaks and extend the can’s usable life.

• 3/4-inch gasket creates a watertight seal at the shower head
• Chemical-resistant polymer tolerates diluted fertilizer use
• Two-piece nozzle allows inspection and gasket replacement if needed

How easy is it to refill and store around the house or garden?

At two gallons, the tank balances capacity with portability: large enough to reduce trips to the spigot but still light enough to carry when filled. The can’s neck diameter is sized to slip under most indoor and outdoor faucets for quick refills. After use, its compact profile tucks conveniently beneath sinks, in garden sheds or in a garage storage shelf.

• 2-gallon capacity minimizes refill frequency
• Neck fits most in- and outdoor faucets for easy filling
• Lightweight recycled polymer is easy to carry and store

What maintenance does the CHAPIN 47998 require to stay functional?

Routine upkeep is straightforward: detach the two-piece shower head to rinse or clear debris, check the gasket for wear, and store the can out of prolonged direct sunlight to slow material aging. Because the nozzle detaches, you can flush the inside with water or vinegar solution if mineral buildup occurs. Replacement parts are simple to inspect and swap when needed.

• Remove nozzle for periodic rinsing and debris removal
• Inspect rubber gasket and replace if it shows wear
• Store indoors or shaded to prolong polymer life

It suits people who prefer a steady shower for delicate plants, those who use diluted liquid feeds, and anyone looking for a compact can that fits under most taps and tucks away easily when not in use.
