CHAMBERLAIN 12V 4.5Ah Replacement Battery for Garage Door Opener — Backup Power, OEM Fit

CHAMBERLAIN 12V 4.5Ah replacement battery restores battery-backup operation for compatible LiftMaster, Chamberlain, and Craftsman garage door openers so you can open and close your garage during power outages.

When the grid goes down, a dedicated backup battery keeps your garage opener functioning so you won’t be locked out of your home. This 12-volt, 4.5 amp-hour rechargeable battery is built to replace the factory backup battery in Chamberlain units and compatible LiftMaster and Craftsman models that use the same battery platform. It ships in variable packaging and is classified as hazardous material for shipping, so returns may be restricted.

Which garage openers work with this replacement battery?

This battery is designed for Chamberlain openers equipped with the EverCharge or other built-in battery backup systems and fits many LiftMaster and Craftsman models that share the same battery configuration. Always verify compatibility by checking your opener’s manual or model number before purchase. If your opener uses a different connector or voltage, this model will not be appropriate.

• 12V, 4.5Ah battery format used by many Chamberlain backup systems
• Compatible with select LiftMaster and Craftsman openers sharing the same battery form factor
• Designed to match OEM electrical and physical connection points

How long will the battery run my garage opener during a blackout?

The battery provides multiple full cycles after a power loss — typically enough to open and then close the garage once or twice depending on door weight and opener power draw. Actual runtime varies with door size, opener load, and accessory draw (lights, sensors). For routine use, expect several operations before recharge is needed when grid power returns.

• Rated 4.5 amp-hours at 12 volts for emergency operation
• Supports multiple open/close cycles depending on door weight
• Recharge resumes automatically when household power is restored

How do I install the replacement battery safely?

Installation is straightforward for most users: power down the opener following the manufacturer instructions, disconnect the old battery, and attach the replacement using the original connectors. Dispose of the old battery responsibly at an authorized recycling or hazardous-waste facility. If you’re unsure, a professional technician can complete the swap quickly.

• Turn off power to the opener before beginning work
• Remove and replace battery using OEM-style connector and mounting location
• Recycle the old battery per local hazardous-material rules

What should I know about shipping, packaging, and returns?

Because this item is regulated as hazardous for transport, packaging may vary and special shipping rules apply. Some sellers mark hazmat items as non-returnable—confirm return policy before purchasing. Keep your opener’s manual or model number handy to ensure you receive the correct replacement unit.

• Packaging may arrive in different colors or styles
• Hazmat shipping restrictions could limit returns or exchanges
• Verify compatibility to avoid delays or non-returnable purchases

Who is this for: homeowners and service professionals who own Chamberlain, LiftMaster, or Craftsman garage door openers that use a 12V 4.5Ah backup battery and need a reliable replacement to maintain emergency operation. It’s ideal for anyone wanting a direct-fit OEM-style battery to restore factory backup performance, especially in locations prone to outages or for properties requiring dependable access during emergencies.
