CARBOU Xeroform Petrolatum Dressings 5"x9" 25-Pack — Sterile Non-Adherent Gauze, Moisture-Balancing

These individually wrapped pads deliver a soft, breathable primary contact layer designed to protect open wounds while minimizing adherence to tissue. Each 5" x 9" dressing in the 25-pack can be trimmed to size, applied with ease, and removed without pulling or tearing delicate skin. The petrolatum base provides a smooth barrier while the fine mesh helps maintain an appropriate moist environment at the wound surface.

How does this dressing reduce pain during dressing changes?

The non-adherent petrolatum layer creates a lubricated interface that resists sticking to new tissue, so removal is typically less painful and less traumatic. Because it does not bond to the wound bed, it limits disruption of fragile healing tissue.

• Soft, fine mesh minimizes friction on contact with skin.
• Petrolatum layer prevents the dressing from sealing to the wound.
• Easy, gentle removal reduces dressing-change discomfort.

Can I use CARBOU Xeroform for different wound types?

Yes — this pad is formulated for a broad range of superficial wounds where a non-stick contact layer is desired. It’s commonly used over grafts, donor sites, surgical incisions, abrasions, and first- to second-degree burns, among other open wounds.

• Appropriate for surgical incisions, lacerations, and abrasions.
• Suitable for skin graft donor sites and dressing over grafts.
• Works for minor burns, pressure ulcers, and trauma wounds requiring a contact layer.

How should I apply and size the 5" x 9" CARBOU dressing?

Open the sterile wrapper, center the petrolatum contact side over the wound, and secure with secondary absorbent padding or tape. The mesh pad can be trimmed with sterile scissors to conform to wound shape; a single layer often suffices for small to medium wounds.

• Trim to fit contours and avoid folding over ulcer margins.
• Use secondary dressing for absorption and fixation.
• Individually sterile packs support safe on-the-spot application.

What are the storage and sterility details I should know?

Each dressing is packaged separately to retain sterility until use; store boxes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Check packaging for integrity before applying — do not use a pad if its sterile wrapper is damaged.

• Pack size: 25 sterile, individually wrapped 5" x 9" dressings per box.
• Keep in a controlled, clean environment to maintain sterility.
• Discard if the outer package shows signs of damage or contamination.
