Buzbug LED Bug Zapper Rechargeable Mosquito Trap MA015C — Dual‑Band UV, 5200mAh Battery

Buzbug LED Bug Zapper MA015C is a rechargeable, portable insect trap that uses dual-band UV LEDs and a high-voltage grid to attract and eliminate mosquitoes, flies, moths and gnats for up to 8.5 hours per charge.

Designed for both indoor and sheltered outdoor use, this compact unit combines two peak-wavelength LED colors (365nm and 395nm) to boost insect attraction while keeping energy use low. A 5200mAh battery delivers extended runtime, and safety features such as a protective grill make it suited to family spaces. The MA015C is lightweight, hangs or stands upright, and uses a replaceable-charge workflow so you can take it to patios, bedrooms, campsites, or kitchens where a discreet non-chemical option is preferred.

How does the dual-band LED system improve bug capture?

The MA015C uses two distinct UV wavelengths to appeal to a broader range of flying insects active at dusk or in darkness. By combining 365nm and 395nm LEDs you’ll see two colors of light that together increase attraction compared with single-wavelength units.

• Dual-color LEDs (365nm + 395nm) target different insect visual sensitivities.
• Up to ~30% higher attraction rate in low-light settings versus single-band lamps.
• Best used in dim or dark environments for maximum effectiveness.

Is the zapper safe to use around children and pets?

The Buzbug MA015C delivers insects a high-voltage electric shock inside the mesh while a protective outer grill prevents accidental contact. The design lowers the risk of touching the live grid, making it more suitable for family areas than exposed electrodes.

• Sturdy outer protective grill to block fingers and paws.
• No chemical sprays or sticky glue strips—electric-only control.
• Follow recommended placement: out of reach and away from water.

How long does the battery last and how do I recharge it?

Equipped with a 5200mAh battery, the unit can operate continuously for roughly 8.5 hours on a full charge. A 1.3-meter USB charging cable is included, and you should use a 5V 2A USB adapter (not included) and fully charge before first use.

• 5200mAh battery provides extended runtime for evening use.
• USB charging cable (1.3 m) included — adapter sold separately.
• Rechargeable design makes it ideal for areas without mains power.

Where and how should I place the zapper for best results?

Placement matters: install the MA015C in a dim area away from competing light sources and about 1–2 meters above the ground for common pests. The hanging strap and stable base allow both suspended and tabletop positioning for patios, bedrooms, or entryways.

• Hang or set upright near activity zones but out of reach of children.
• Keep away from rain and direct water exposure — unit is not waterproof.
• Use indoors or in sheltered outdoor spaces for optimal capture.

Who this is for: The Buzbug MA015C is aimed at households and small outdoor gatherings that need a portable, chemical-free insect control tool. It suits people who want a rechargeable device that runs through an evening on a single charge, families seeking a safer trap around kids and pets, and campers or patio users who need a compact, energy-efficient zapper without recurring bulb costs.
