BUG-A-SALT salt blaster EZ-COCK 2.6 — compact spring-powered, uses table salt, no batteries

BUG-A-SALT EZ-COCK 2.6 is a spring-powered salt blaster that shoots ordinary table salt to quickly stun and remove soft-bodied pests without chemicals or batteries.

The BUG-A-SALT EZ-COCK 2.6 is a user-friendly, mechanical pest blaster designed for indoor and outdoor use. Re-engineered for smoother cocking and dependable firing, this model delivers the same impact as larger versions while being easier to operate. It relies on granulated table salt as ammo, requires no power source, and is accurate at close range, making it a simple, low-cost alternative to sprays and electric traps.

How does the EZ-COCK 2.6 work and what makes it simpler than other models?

The EZ-COCK 2.6 uses an improved spring mechanism that requires less effort to prepare for each shot, so users can fire rapidly without tiring. A pop-up rear sight signals readiness, and its re-engineered internals prioritize consistent performance and accuracy. Because it’s fully mechanical, there are no batteries or charging times to manage.

• Smoother spring action for easy cocking and rapid follow-up shots
• Pop-up rear sight shows when the blaster is ready to fire
• No batteries or electricity — salt is the only ammo needed
• Compact, beginner-friendly design with 2–3 feet effective range

Which pests can the BUG-A-SALT 2.6 handle safely and effectively?

This blaster is optimized for soft-bodied and small pests commonly found in homes and gardens. It’s effective on houseflies, mosquitoes, small roaches, and many nymph-stage invasive insects. It can stun or dislodge pests from windows or screens without tearing the mesh, but it’s not intended for hardened or large stinging insects.

• Targets: houseflies, mosquitoes, small roaches, silverfish, crickets, and caterpillars
• Works on spotted lanternfly nymphs and small adults
• Suitable for use on window and screen surfaces without damage
• Not recommended for aggressive stinging insects; upgrade to CO2 SHRED-ER for those

Is the EZ-COCK 2.6 safe to use around family and pets?

The device fires dry table salt at short distances and avoids chemical residues, which reduces household exposure compared with sprays. However, it’s still a projectile and should be handled responsibly: never aim at people, pets, or delicate wildlife. The manufacturer’s code of conduct emphasizes adult supervision and proper target selection to prevent accidents.

• Non-toxic ammo — uses ordinary granulated salt
• Keep out of reach of children; do not aim at people or animals
• Use caution near fragile items and avoid aiming at stinging insects
• Designed for responsible adult use only

How accurate and reliable is its performance in real-world use?

The EZ-COCK 2.6 is engineered for consistent accuracy within roughly 2–3 feet, making it practical for window, screen, and short-range outdoor encounters. Users report rapid-fire capability and dependable hits when aimed carefully. Over eight million BUG-A-SALT units have been sold worldwide, reflecting the platform’s tested reliability across different environments.

• Accuracy: effective at close range (approximately 2–3 feet)
• Reliability: improved internal design for consistent firing
• Rapid fire capability for multiple targets in sequence
• Proven platform with millions of units sold globally

Who is this for? The BUG-A-SALT EZ-COCK 2.6 is ideal for homeowners, renters, and outdoor enthusiasts who want a low-cost, chemical-free way to manage common flying and crawling pests at close range. It’s particularly well suited for people who prefer a mechanical solution without batteries, for quick spot treatments on windows, porches, patios, and kitchens. Not intended for children, untrained users, or for tackling large stinging insects — consider an appropriate upgrade for those situations.
