BRITA Metro 6-Cup Water Filter Pitcher - Turquoise, Compact Fridge-Friendly with SmartLight

The BRITA Metro 6-cup water filter pitcher is a compact, fridge-friendly filter that reduces chlorine taste and select heavy metals while delivering clearer-tasting tap water.

This small turquoise pitcher is designed for everyday use: it filters water quickly, fits most refrigerator doors, and includes BRITA’s SmartLight to tell you exactly when to change the filter. The pitcher is BPA-free and uses a Standard filter that replaces many single-use plastic bottles—helping you save money and cut down on waste. Filters are WQA NSF/ANSI certified for reduction of chlorine (taste and odor), copper, mercury, and cadmium. The Metro’s easy-fill lid lets you refill without removing the top, making it convenient for kitchens and compact living spaces.

How quickly does the BRITA Metro filter water and fit in my fridge?

The Metro is built for speed and space-efficiency: it pours filtered water immediately and its slim silhouette fits most refrigerator doors and mini-fridges. The top-loading lid allows refills without removing the pitcher, so you can refresh water with minimal effort.

• 6-cup capacity holds enough water for several glasses at a time
• Easy-fill lid for quick refills without lifting the pitcher out
• Compact shape designed to fit standard fridge door shelves

Which contaminants does this pitcher reduce and what certifications support that?

BRITA Metro uses a Standard filter certified by WQA/NSF to reduce chlorine taste and odor plus certain heavy metals, improving flavor and appearance. Certification confirms the filter meets specific reduction claims, though actual contaminants in tap water vary by location.

• Certified reductions include chlorine (taste and odor), copper, mercury, and cadmium
• WQA/NSF certification verifies performance for listed substances
• Intended for use with potable (drinking) water only

How often should I change the filter, and how does the SmartLight indicator help?

The Standard filter is designed for up to 40 gallons of use—roughly two months for an average household—after which replacement is recommended to maintain performance. The integrated SmartLight monitors filter life and gives an accurate reminder so you won’t guess when it’s time to swap in a new cartridge.

• Standard filter life: about 40 gallons or ~2 months
• SmartLight precisely signals when replacement is needed
• One Standard filter can eliminate the need for up to 300 single-use 16.9 oz bottles

Are the pitcher and filters compatible with other BRITA products?

The Metro pitcher accepts BRITA Standard filters, which are compatible across most BRITA pitchers and dispensers (excluding the BRITA Stream). For longer filter life and different performance, the pitcher also works with BRITA Elite filters when desired.

• Standard filters fit nearly all BRITA pitchers and dispensers except Stream
• Elite filters also compatible for extended life (about 120 gallons)
• Replacement filters are sold separately for ongoing use

Who this is for: The BRITA Metro 6-cup pitcher is ideal for singles, couples, or small families who want affordable, on-demand filtered water with minimal countertop and fridge footprint. It suits apartment dwellers, college students, and anyone aiming to reduce bottled-water purchases while improving tap water taste. If you prefer an easy-fill, easy-maintain pitcher with a clear filter-life indicator and certified contaminant reduction, the Metro is a practical choice.
