Bosch Bulldog SDS-Plus Rotary Hammer Bit Set, 5 pc 1/2 in x 12 in — Carbide-Tipped, Fast Dust Evacuation

Built on Bosch’s decades-long experience with concrete tools, the HC2084B5 Bulldog set pairs a two-cutter head and patented four-flute geometry with Bosch-made carbide tips to deliver faster drilling, efficient dust evacuation, and tougher resistance to abrasive materials. The 1/2 in. shank and 12 in. length fit standard SDS-Plus rotary hammers and are optimized for anchoring, general-purpose concrete drilling, and large-area material removal across a wide range of masonry surfaces.

How do these bits cut faster and stay sharper?

The Bosch Bulldog bits use a two-cutter head to reduce resistance and a centering tip to start holes precisely, while Bosch-grade carbide tips retain edge hardness under high load. The combined head geometry promotes smoother, quicker penetration and prolonged cutting performance.

• Two-cutter head for reduced drag and quicker bit advance
• Carbide-tipped faces resist wear from hard or abrasive materials
• Centering tip for accurate hole starts and less bit walking
• Integrated wear mark shows when to replace the bit

What materials and jobs are these bits best suited for?

These 12 in. Bulldog bits tackle a broad range of masonry work, from anchoring in dense concrete to removing plaster or screed in larger areas. Their abrasion-resistant binding lets them work effectively in both soft and abrasive materials without rapid degradation.

• Ideal: fresh concrete, screed, plaster, aerated concrete, soft limestone
• Also suitable: sandstone, cast asphalt, pumice, and plaster mortar
• Can be used on older, harder materials like basalt and stone concrete with appropriate technique
• Great for anchoring, through-holes, and medium-depth drilling up to 12 in.

Will these fit my tool and how do I maintain them?

The HC2084B5 features the SDS-Plus shank common to light- and medium-duty rotary hammers, so it installs quickly and locks securely. Maintenance is mainly visual: keep flutes clean, check the wear mark, and replace bits when cutting slows or damage appears.

• SDS-Plus shank compatibility with most consumer and professional rotary hammers
• Regularly clear dust from flutes to sustain drilling speed
• Replace when the integrated wear mark is reached or cutting performance drops
• Use appropriate hammer settings and coolant/wet cutting practices per tool manual

How do the four flutes improve performance on real jobs?

Bosch’s patent-pending four-flute design evacuates dust more efficiently than standard flute patterns, reducing clogging and heat buildup inside the hole. Cleaner holes mean faster cycle times and reduced wear on both bit and tool over long runs.

• Faster dust removal helps keep the bit cutting surface exposed
• Less clogging decreases friction and extends bit life
• Improved debris evacuation results in cleaner holes for anchors and fixtures
• Supports longer continuous drilling without overheating

Who is this for? The Bosch HC2084B5 set is aimed at contractors, tradespeople, and serious DIYers who need reliable SDS-Plus rotary hammer bits for anchoring, demolition prep, and medium-depth drilling in a variety of masonry materials. Choose this set when you want a balanced mix of speed, durability, and compatibility with standard rotary hammers.
