BLUE GINKGO Over-Sink Colander Extendable 14–19" — Grey BPA-Free Kitchen Strainer, Raised Base

The BLUE GINKGO Over Sink Colander is an extendable, BPA-free kitchen strainer that fits sinks 14–19 inches and lets you rinse, drain, and air-dry produce and pasta without cluttering your countertop.

Designed for everyday kitchen tasks, this grey, made-in-Korea colander expands to sit securely across most sinks and features a raised base to keep food above standing water. Its evenly spaced drainage holes keep fruits, vegetables, and larger foods contained while water escapes quickly. Lightweight and dishwasher-safe, it replaces the need for multiple bowls and metal strainers that can rust or take up cabinet space.

How does this colander save space and stay stable over different sinks?

The colander telescopes from 14 to 19 inches so it can bridge small and large sinks, freeing up counter space while you work. Rubberized edges (if present) and the extendable arms help secure it in place so it won’t tip while you rinse.

• Adjustable length fits most sink widths from 14" to 19"
• Raised base keeps food lifted above sink water
• Lightweight frame rests across sink rims for stable use
• Saves counter space by using the sink as a work area

What can I use this strainer for in daily meal prep?

This colander handles a variety of tasks: washing produce, draining pasta, thawing frozen items, and air-drying dishes and utensils. It is best for larger items; avoid using it for rice or very fine grains because the holes are sized for good drainage, not micro-filtration.

• Rinse berries, lettuce, herbs, and other produce
• Drain boiled pasta and larger grains quickly
• Thaw frozen vegetables and keep liquids contained
• Air-dry utensils and small plates without taking counter space

How easy is it to clean and maintain this kitchen accessory?

Made from BPA-free plastic, the BLUE GINKGO colander resists rust and is dishwasher safe for fast cleanup. Its smooth surfaces and open hole pattern reduce food trapping, so regular rinsing and a cycle in the dishwasher restore it to ready-to-use condition.

• BPA-free plastic construction from Korea — durable and non-corrosive
• Dishwasher-safe for hassle-free cleaning
• Smooth interior minimizes food residue buildup
• Doesn't require drying to prevent rust like metal strainers

Will this colander keep smaller foods from slipping through?

The design uses evenly spaced holes to drain efficiently while retaining most fruits, vegetables, and pasta, but it’s not intended for very small particles like rice or fine grains. If you routinely need to drain tiny seeds or grains, pair the colander with a fine-mesh sieve.

• Holes sized for medium-to-large food items
• Not recommended for rice, quinoa, or other small grains
• Works well with a secondary fine-mesh strainer when needed
• Keeps produce and larger foods contained during rinsing

Who is this for? Home cooks, small households, and anyone with limited counter space who wants a durable, rust-free strainer that adapts to different sink sizes will appreciate the BLUE GINKGO Over Sink Colander. It’s ideal for people who prepare fresh produce, drain pasta often, or prefer to rinse and dry items over the sink to keep counters clear. If you need a compact, easy-to-clean, and versatile kitchen tool that fits most sinks and simplifies rinsing and draining, this extendable colander is a practical choice.
