BLACK+DECKER 16-Cup Rice Cooker RC516, 8-Cup Uncooked Capacity — One-Touch, Removable Nonstick Bowl

The BLACK+DECKER 16-Cup Rice Cooker (RC516) is a one-touch electric cooker that prepares up to 8 cups uncooked (16 cups cooked) rice and steams vegetables or fish using the included basket.

Whether you're feeding a family, meal-prepping for the week, or serving guests, this BLACK+DECKER rice cooker simplifies large-batch cooking. Its removable nonstick bowl and tempered glass lid make stirring, serving, and cleanup straightforward, while an automatic keep-warm setting holds rice at serving temperature after the cooking cycle finishes.

How much rice can this cooker handle for family dinners?

The RC516 accepts up to 8 cups of uncooked rice, which yields about 16 cups once cooked—enough for sizeable gatherings or several meal portions. For consistent results, use the included rice measuring cup and follow the rice-to-water guide supplied with the cooker.

• Cooks up to 8 cups uncooked / 16 cups cooked
• Use only the included measuring cup for correct proportions
• Works with white, brown, and many whole grains (adjust water/time)

What features make cleanup and serving easy?

The inner cooking bowl is nonstick and fully removable, so you can lift it out for washing or place it on the table to serve. The tempered glass lid and included accessories are dishwasher-safe for faster cleanup after meals.

• Removable nonstick bowl wipes clean quickly or goes in dishwasher
• Tempered glass lid designed with hanger for neat serving
• Includes measuring cup and rice paddle for mess-free portions

Can I steam vegetables or cook other dishes in this rice cooker?

Yes—the included steaming basket expands the cooker’s use beyond rice so you can prepare vegetables, fish, and similar items at the same time the rice cooks. That lets you make a complete meal in one appliance with minimal extra effort.

• Steaming basket fits inside cooker during rice cycles
• Steam fish, vegetables, or dumplings while rice cooks below
• Also suitable for soups, stews, oatmeal, and pasta in the removable bowl

How does the cooker manage heat and keep food ready?

The unit uses two heat settings: cook and keep-warm. When cooking finishes and moisture is absorbed, the cooker automatically switches to keep-warm to maintain fluffy rice until you’re ready to serve.

• Automatic switch from cooking to keep-warm
• Prevents overcooking by stopping when moisture is gone
• Simple one-touch operation—start with a single press

Who is this for? The BLACK+DECKER RC516 is ideal for households that need reliable, large-capacity rice cooking without fuss—families, roommates, or anyone who prepares meals for gatherings. It also suits cooks who want a multi-use countertop appliance for steaming vegetables, reheating grains, or cooking simple soups and pastas with an easy-to-clean setup and one-touch operation.
