biocean Compostable Utensils 150-Count Heavyweight Forks Spoons Knives - Plastic-Free, BPI-Certified Heavy Duty Flatware

These are BIOCEAN 100% compostable, plastic-free disposable utensils — a heavyweight, durable flatware set of forks, spoons and knives made from natural corn starch and certified compostable.

If you want single-use cutlery that performs like traditional plastic but breaks down in industrial composting, this BIOCEAN pack gives you 150 pieces of rigid, chemical-free flatware suitable for events, catering and everyday outdoor meals. Each set includes 50 forks (6.5"), 50 spoons (6.1") and 50 knives (7"), engineered to resist bending and snapping while avoiding plastic and harsh additives.

How durable are these compostable utensils in real use?

These utensils are designed to bend instead of shatter and to handle typical foods like salads, grilled meats and soups without falling apart. The composition gives them a firmer feel than many wooden or thin bioplastic alternatives.

• Heavyweight construction tested to resist breaking during normal use.
• Knife length 7" for confident cutting and portioning.
• Spoons sized 6.1" for soups and desserts without flexing.
• Forks 6.5" with sturdy tines for salads and cooked dishes.

Where and how do these utensils break down?

The BIOCEAN flatware is BPI‑certified compostable and made from plant-based corn starch; it is intended for commercial composting facilities where conditions meet the required heat and microbial activity. They will not reliably degrade in home compost or a typical landfill within the same timeframe.

• BPI certification confirms industrial compostability standards.
• Best disposed in municipal or commercial compost systems.
• Not designed to dissolve quickly in home piles or marine environments.
• Packaging and utensil material are plastic-free to reduce microplastic risks.

Are these utensils safe and free from harmful additives?

BIOCEAN flatware is formulated without BPA, chlorine, or toxic chemical additives; the material is derived from corn starch and finished as CPLA for rigidity. Compared with rough wooden alternatives, these pieces offer a smooth, pleasant eating surface.

• No BPA, no chlorine bleaching, no hazardous chemicals in production.
• CPLA finish delivers a smooth surface without splinters or taste transfer.
• Suitable for food contact across hot and cold dishes.
• Reusable and washable once or twice if needed, depending on use.
