Avantree USB-C Wired Earbuds C171 — Secure Earhook Fit, Inline Microphone & Volume Controls

The Avantree C171 are USB-C wired earbuds that combine a secure earhook fit, inline microphone and volume controls, and balanced sound for everyday listening and active use.

The Avantree C171 plugs directly into devices with a USB-C port to deliver clear audio and hands-on control without needing Bluetooth pairing or charging. Designed for workouts, commuting, and calls, these earbuds pair a soft eartip with an earhook for stability and include tactile inline buttons for music and call management. They suit modern USB-C phones and tablets but are not compatible with Lightning or 3.5mm-only devices.

Will these earbuds work with my phone or tablet?

If your device has a USB-C audio port, the C171 will generally connect and play sound immediately—no battery or wireless setup required. They are compatible with many Android phones and newer USB-C iPhones like the iPhone 15 and 16, but not with older Lightning-only iPhones or devices that rely solely on a 3.5mm jack.

• Connects directly to USB-C ports on smartphones and tablets
• Works with most Android models from Samsung, Google, and others
• Compatible with iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 (USB-C models)
• Not usable with iPhone 11–14 Lightning ports or pure 3.5mm AUX inputs
• May be incompatible with some models such as certain Samsung S24 variants

How comfortable and secure are these earbuds for movement?

The C171 pairs a soft silicone eartip with a molded earhook to keep the earbud stable during activity while minimizing in-ear pressure. The combination helps the buds stay in place during running, gym sessions, and daily commuting without frequent adjustments.

• Soft eartips conform to the ear canal for comfort
• Outer earhook prevents slipping during motion
• Lightweight design reduces fatigue over long wear
• Available in sizes that help customize the fit

What controls are available and how do they work during calls?

The C171 has a physical inline control module with buttons for play/pause, track skipping, and volume adjustments, plus a dedicated call button. You can answer or end calls and summon your phone’s voice assistant without touching the phone, making the earbuds convenient for hands-free use.

• Play/pause and track forward/back functions
• Volume up and down via tactile buttons
• Single-button call answer/reject for hands-free calling
• Voice assistant activation through the inline controls

What kind of sound and microphone performance can I expect?

The C171 aims for a balanced audio profile with clear midrange and defined highs so music, podcasts, and calls sound natural. The built-in microphone is positioned to capture voice clearly for typical call and meeting situations, keeping communication straightforward without external accessories.

• Balanced audio signature suitable for music and speech
• Clear vocal presence for podcasts and audiobooks
• Built-in mic optimized for everyday calls
• No need for charging—direct wired audio provides consistent connection

Who is this for? The Avantree C171 is aimed at listeners who want reliable, wired USB-C earbuds with physical controls and a secure fit for active use. Choose these if you prefer a plug-and-play wired connection over Bluetooth, need inline controls and a mic for frequent calls, or want earbuds that stay put during exercise. They are a practical pick for owners of USB-C phones and tablets who prioritize stability, tactile controls, and straightforward audio performance.
