Engineered for shops and home garages, the Autel PowerScan combines long-reach cables, multiple test modes and built-in protection to simplify vehicle electrical diagnosis. It reads DC and AC voltages, measures resistance, emits tone-based feedback for quick checks and can energize components on- or off-vehicle. Compact and rugged, this kit is designed to save diagnostic time and reduce guesswork when tracing wiring faults or verifying component function.
The tester uses a sensitive probe tip and powered tracing to detect breaks, low-resistance paths and poor grounds. When a short or overload occurs, the internal circuit breaker trips to protect the tester and vehicle circuits. Visual LEDs and audible cues make pinpointing the fault faster than using simple test lights.
PowerScan provides four principal modes: DC voltage, AC voltage, resistance and tone. Use the DC mode for battery, fuse and sensor volt checks; AC for alternating signals and frequency/duty readings; resistance for continuity or component resistance; and tone for audible feedback in low-visibility spots.
Yes — the PowerScan can energize devices either on the vehicle or off-board to confirm operation. That lets you verify motors, lights, injectors and fans without relying solely on the vehicle’s control system to command them. Activating components manually makes it simpler to determine whether the failure is electrical or control-related.
Designed for frequent use, the unit includes overload protection, long reach cabling and an integrated flashlight for dim work areas. Two 20 ft cables (one built-in, one extension) let you reach trailer wiring or deep engine bays without searching for ground points. The bright LEDs and audible tones reduce guesswork and improve safety while probing live circuits.
Who this is for: The Autel PowerScan is aimed at automotive technicians, mobile mechanics, and DIY enthusiasts who need a reliable, portable power probe for diagnostics. It suits anyone who regularly traces wiring, verifies component operation, or services trailer and vehicle electrical systems — offering a faster, safer alternative to basic test lights and multimeters.
Q: Does this tester work on 12V and 24V systems?
A: Yes. The Autel PowerScan supports both 12V and 24V automotive electrical systems for cars, trucks and trailers.
Q: Can it protect itself from shorts while testing?
A: Yes. It includes an internal circuit breaker that trips on overload to protect the tester and vehicle circuit.
