Airlab Wooden Play Food — Sliceable Toy Fruits Set for Toddlers (Ages 2-4), Wooden Knife & Storage Box, Non-Toxic

This wooden fruit cutting set from Airlab combines durable, sustainably sourced rubberwood with water-based color dyes to create a tidy, realistic pretend-play experience. Each fruit separates with nylon fasteners so children can "cut" pieces with the included wooden knife and hear a playful crunch, reinforcing hand-eye coordination and imaginative role play. The collection stores neatly in a wooden box, making cleanup simple for parents and playtime continuous for toddlers aged roughly two to four years.

How does this toy support early learning and coordination?

The set promotes fine motor control, bilateral coordination, and basic problem solving as children hold the fruit, align the fasteners, and use the toy knife. Repeatedly assembling and slicing pieces strengthens wrist and finger muscles important for later writing and self-care tasks.

• Hand-eye coordination practiced by lining up nylon buckles and slicing pieces.
• Fine motor skill development through grasping, placing, and pressing components.
• Simple cause-and-effect learning when pieces separate and reattach.
• Realistic auditory cue (soft ‘crunch’) that reinforces cutting actions.

What’s included and how durable is the set?

The package contains eight wooden fruits—apple, orange, pear, lemon, banana, kiwi, and plum—plus a child-safe wooden knife and a storage box. Made from renewable rubberwood and non-toxic, water-based dyes, the pieces are built to withstand regular play while remaining lightweight and safe for small hands.

• Seven fruit items that come apart and reattach with nylon buckles.
• Rounded wooden knife sized for toddler hands and pretend cutting.
• Compact wooden storage box to keep pieces organized and portable.
• Non-toxic finish suitable for regular handling and play.

Is this toy safe for my 2–4 year old and how do I supervise play?

Safety is a central design element: materials are natural wood with water-based dyes and the knife is blunt and intended for pretend use only. Supervision is recommended for toddlers under three to ensure safe play, avoid putting small parts in mouths, and teach proper knife handling during pretend cooking.

• Blunt wooden knife designed for imitation cutting without sharp edges.
• Secure nylon buckles that stay attached during normal play.
• Recommended for ages 2–4, with close supervision for younger children.
• Easy-to-clean surfaces—wipe with a damp cloth as needed.

How does this set expand pretend-play and reduce screen time?

The tactile, role-play nature of cutting and serving fruit encourages storytelling, sharing, and cooperative play—alternatives to passive screen entertainment. Children can act out grocery shopping, kitchen routines, or family meals, which enhances language, social skills, and creativity.

• Encourages cooperative scenarios like cooking and store games.
• Helps build vocabulary through naming fruits and actions.
• Supports imaginative play that can extend into multi-player activities.
• Portable set enables on-the-go, screen-free engagement.

This Airlab wooden fruit cutting set is ideal for caregivers seeking a sustainable, educational toy that fits small hands and short attention spans. It benefits preschool teachers, parents, and gift-givers looking for a durable, tidy, and developmentally useful toy for toddlers and young children aged about two to four years. With compact storage and straightforward play mechanics, it’s an easy addition to home play kitchens, daycare activity shelves, and birthday gifts that promote hands-on learning rather than screen time.
