AeroPress Flow Control Filter Cap — Fits Standard AeroPress, Pressure-Actuated Valve for Immersion & Espresso-Style Brewing

The AeroPress Flow Control Filter Cap gives you pressure-actuated stop/start control over drip-through, so you can dial grind size, steep time and brewing style with precision.

The Flow Control Filter Cap is an accessory designed for standard-size AeroPress coffee makers (Original, Clear, Go, Go Plus and Premium Manual models). It replaces the stock cap and adds a built-in valve that prevents coffee from dripping until you choose to release it, enabling a wider range of recipes and extraction techniques — from rapid cold brews to espresso-style concentrates — while working with paper and metal filters.

How does the Flow Control Filter Cap change brewing technique?

By stopping drip-through until you open the valve, the cap lets you steep coffee under pressure or extend contact time without losing liquid. That creates a flexible brewing window so you can test different grind sizes and temperatures with immediate feedback.

• Pressure-actuated valve stops coffee flow until you release it.
• Enables immersion, pressure, and pour-over style hybrids.
• Works with paper or metal filters, or both combined for texture control.
• Simple twist to open/close for repeatable timing during recipes.

What recipes or drinks can I make with this cap?

The cap expands the AeroPress recipe library: you can quickly produce espresso-style concentrates, cold brews, iced coffee, or more concentrated bases for milk drinks. It’s particularly useful when you want to hold liquid in the chamber to create crema-like extraction with dark roasts or to cold-steep without a separate vessel.

• Espresso-style short pulls using fine grind and brief pressure.
• Cold brew or iced recipes with extended immersion and drip control.
• Lattes and milk drinks using concentrated extractions.
• Experimental recipes combining metal and paper filters for tailored texture.

Which filters should I pair with the Flow Control Filter Cap?

You can use AeroPress paper micro-filters for a clean cup, the stainless steel reusable filter for fuller body, or stack both for a hybrid result. Each option changes mouthfeel and clarity, so choose based on roast, grind and desired flavor intensity rather than a single “right” filter.

• Paper micro-filters: cleaner, brighter cup with less sediment.
• Stainless steel reusable filter: bolder body and fuller oils retained.
• Paper + metal together: balanced clarity and body, reduced fines.
• Compatible with Standard-size AeroPress models listed by AeroPress.

Will the cap fit my AeroPress model and how do I install it?

The Flow Control Filter Cap fits standard-size AeroPress coffee makers including Original (post-2014 variants), Clear, Go, Go Plus and Premium Manual models. Installation is tool-free: remove the existing cap and thread the Flow Control Filter Cap on in its place; then insert filters and follow your chosen recipe.

• Designed for standard-size AeroPress models; not recommended for pre-2014 Original units.
• Threads on like the original cap and accepts same filter sizes.
• Easy to open/close during brewing for timed control.
• No special equipment or modifications required.

Who is this for: coffee enthusiasts who want more experimental control from their AeroPress — from home baristas dialing espresso-style concentrates to travelers and office brewers wanting consistent, repeatable recipes. The Flow Control Filter Cap is ideal if you enjoy testing grind, time and temperature variables, or if you prefer to switch between clean and full-bodied cups without new brewing hardware.
