ACTIVE Ice Machine Descaler Tablets — 24-Pack Citric Acid Cleaner, Nickel-Safe 1-Year Supply for Countertop & Nugget Ice Makers

ACTIVE Ice Machine Cleaner Maker Descaler tablets are a nickel-safe, food-grade citric acid formula designed to remove limescale, mineral buildup, and odors from countertop, portable, and commercial ice makers.

Hard water deposits and mineral scale reduce ice clarity, shorten machine life, and create off-tastes or smells. These 24 concentrated tablets deliver routine descaling and deodorizing power for a full year of maintenance on countertop and freestanding units from major brands. The formulation targets calcium and mineral films while being safe for nickel-plated and stainless components commonly found in nugget, pebble, pellet, and cube machines.

How do these tablets remove scale without damaging metal parts?

The ACTIVE tablets use food-grade citric acid combined with other mild ingredients that dissolve calcium and mineral films without aggressive acids that can pit or etch metal. They are specifically balanced to be compatible with nickel-plated, stainless steel, and aluminum-plated internal surfaces.

• Food-grade citric acid formula that chelates mineral deposits
• pH and ingredient balance designed to protect nickel and stainless components
• Solid tablet form for measured, no-spill dosing

How often should I descale my countertop ice maker to keep ice clear?

Frequency depends on water hardness and usage, but a regular schedule keeps ice clear and tasting fresh. For typical home use, treat the unit every 1–3 months; heavy-use or hard-water conditions may require more frequent descaling.

• Light household use: every 3 months
• Moderate use or medium-hard water: every 1–2 months
• Commercial or very hard water: monthly maintenance recommended

Which ice makers are compatible with these descaling tablets?

ACTIVE tablets are formulated for most portable, countertop, and commercial ice makers from leading manufacturers. They work with nugget, bullet, cube, and pebble-style machines but are not intended for built-in refrigerator ice dispensers.

• Compatible with Frigidaire, Ice-O-Matic, Kitchenaid, and Opal
• Works on GE Profile, Whirlpool, Jenn Air, and many commercial brands
• Not recommended for integrated refrigerator ice makers or sealed refrigerator systems

What practical benefits will I notice after using these tablets?

Regular descaling restores ice clarity and neutralizes odors, improving taste and reducing visible mineral flecks. It also helps the machine run more efficiently and reduces wear on components, extending service intervals and lowering the risk of breakdowns.

• Clearer, better-tasting ice for drinks and food preservation
• Reduced machine noise and improved cycling efficiency
• Fewer mineral deposits on evaporator plates and water lines

Who is this for: ACTIVE Ice Machine Cleaner Maker Descaler is aimed at homeowners, small businesses, and food-service operators who use countertop, portable, or standalone ice makers and want a simple, effective maintenance solution. If you own a nugget, pellet, cube, or pebble ice machine from major brands and need a nickel-safe descaler that eliminates scale and odors without harsh acids, this 24-tablet kit supplies up to a year of routine treatments. Always follow your machine manufacturer's cleaning instructions and avoid use in built-in refrigerator ice systems.
