ACANA Butcher's Favorites Grain-Free Dry Dog Food — Farm-Raised Beef & Liver, 4 lb, High-Protein with Beef Jerky Bites

ACANA Butcher's Favorites Farm-Raised Beef & Liver is a high-protein, grain-free dry dog food combining real beef jerky pieces and fresh animal ingredients for balanced daily nutrition.

This 4 lb bag delivers a meat-forward recipe built from fresh farm-raised beef, beef liver and Yorkshire pork, complemented by legumes and whole foods for nutrients and energy. Formulated to be 70% animal ingredients and 30% plant-based components (derived from the raw ingredients), the kibble mixes standard dry pieces with tender beef jerky bites to increase palatability and protein density. ACANA uses refrigeration to preserve fresh inclusions and freezes raw ingredients at peak freshness, while adding vitamins, minerals and probiotics to round out nutritional needs.

How does this formula support everyday digestion and weight control?

The recipe balances animal proteins with fiber-rich peas, chickpeas and lentils to help steady digestion and contribute to feeling satisfied. Probiotics and a controlled carbohydrate profile help support normal digestion without relying on grains.

• High animal-protein content promotes lean muscle maintenance.
• Legumes provide soluble fiber for steady digestion.
• Added probiotics support gut microbial balance.
• Grain-free formulation reduces simple starches.

What makes the texture and taste appealing to dogs?

ACANA blends conventional kibble with real, tender beef jerky pieces to offer varied texture and an irresistible meaty aroma. This combination encourages picky eaters to engage with their bowl while delivering concentrated animal protein in every bite.

• Real beef jerky pieces increase flavor and chew interest.
• Fresh and frozen-at-peak inclusions boost natural taste.
• Balanced kibble size suited for medium and large mouths.
• No artificial flavors—meat-forward profile is the main attractor.

Where do the ingredients come from and how is freshness managed?

ACANA sources fresh farm-raised beef and Yorkshire pork, supplements those meats with nutrient-dense organ meat like liver, and uses refrigeration to preserve fresh components. Raw ingredients destined for inclusion are frozen at peak freshness to lock in nutrients before processing.

• Fresh farm-raised beef and beef liver form primary protein sources.
• Yorkshire pork adds complementary animal protein variety.
• Refrigeration used for preserving fresh ingredients.
• Raw items frozen at peak freshness before processing.

How should I transition my dog to ACANA Butcher's Favorites?

Switch gradually over 7–10 days by mixing increasing amounts of ACANA with your dog’s current food to reduce digestive upset. Monitor appetite and stool quality; adjust the pace if needed and consult your veterinarian for pets with special dietary needs.

• Start with 25% new food and 75% old for 2–3 days.
• Increase to a 50/50 mix for another 2–3 days.
• Finish transition with 75% new food for 2–3 days before full changeover.
• Provide fresh water and observe stool consistency during transition.

Who is this for? ACANA Butcher's Favorites Farm-Raised Beef & Liver is suited for adult dogs who thrive on high-protein, meat-forward diets and those that enjoy mixed textures in their bowl. It works well for owners seeking a grain-free option made with recognizable animal ingredients and who prefer formulas that emphasize fresh and peak-frozen meats.
